In the Winter of 2010 I was introduced to the “gentle art” known as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. It is the most challenging and rewarding martial art I have ever known. I respect it because it is one of the few things in life that you cannot be given by anyone else. You must use your God given abilities to invest the blood, sweat and tears through discipline of yourself in order to reap the many rewards that it has to offer. There are no entitlements. You cannot demand that someone else do the work for you. No one else has the ability to take what you’ve earned.
I have made many friends thus far on this journey and I trust that I will make many more. That is but only one of the rewards of being true to yourself. Leave your pride at the door and let yourself grow. I have said many times, “I love getting together with my friends, but when we see each other, all we do is fight.” 😉
